Inhalte: Mathematical biology aims at deciphering organizational principles of biological systems by means of mathematical modelling and analysis, using a variety of applied mathematical techniques and tools. The lecture series (I-II) focuses on discrete and continuous models.
This semester's lecture focuses on discrete models such as cellular automata and applications from collective cell migration and biological pattern formation to cancer. The lecture is suitable for - but not restricted to - (under)graduates in biology, mathematics, physics, medical and computer science. Together with an accompanying tutorial, participants receive a profound introduction to modern biomathematical concepts.
