Inhalte: Die Vorlesung behandelt vielfätige Fragen der algebraischen Messtheorie. Ausgangspunkt ist die sogenannte Fahrrad-Metrik: "bergauf ist anstrengend, bergab fällt leicht". Dies führt zu einem gerichteten Abstandsbegriff. 

Auch ist es ein Unterschied, welche Post mich nicht erreicht hat und welche sich fälschlich in meinem Briefkasten befindet. Dies regt die Modellierung eines qualitativen gerichteten Abstandsbegriffs an, welcher "Deletion" und "Error" unterscheidet. 

Das Motto der Vorlesung ist "Discovery": Wir modellieren und vergleichen Konzepte von "Directed Distance" und "Directed Proximity". Hierzu ein Beispiel aus dem Leben gegriffen: Obwohl es eigentlich das Gleiche bedeutet, sagen wir eher "Ich fühle mich Dir sehr nahe!" anstatt "Die Distanz zwischen uns empfinde ich als sehr klein!"

Überdies machen wir folgende Beobachtung: Vielen gerichteten Distanz-Konzepten liegen Funktoren zugrunde. Im hierarchischen Kontext werden wir untersuchen, wie Funktoren mit Taxonomien verknüpft sind und wie ihre Erweiterungen auf gerichtete Abstände zu Ontologien führen.
